My husband and I can share a chinese meal and still have leftovers and it only costs $7. How can they afford to do this? They seriously give you like 25 pieces of chicken and a pound of rice and an egg roll. It’s so much food!

There are a couple reasons:
1. Most aren’t owned by corporations. The incentive to jack up prices isn’t there, and it’s hard for corporations to copy and franchise Chinese food, apparently. Maybe it’s hard to make the money they desire.
2. The meat’s probably really cheap.
3. I suspect many of these joints are opened with Asian mafia money. Do you see how many of these places open up a year? How many of them close and are replaced with another one in such a quick time?
4. The people working for them are probably illegals, Mexican or Chinese.
